The Dream

Rev D Cameron - Pastor of Penrith Baptist Church spoke to a small group who had come out of St Paul's Anglican Church "Can I help you?" As a result of that offer the first service of the Warragamba Baptist Fellowship was held on 11th July 1963 in the kiosk of Warragamba Town Hall. There were 47 people present. John Harris became the Secretary of the Fellowship. Sunday School commenced in November 1963 in a large tent erected each Sunday on a vacant block owned by Gretha and Allan Brandt In 1964 There were 13 adults and 9 children attending the Church There was a Ladies Fellowship with 12 members There were 44 children in the Sunday School, 3 teachers and 2 helpers

The Formation of the Church

14th July 1968 16 foundation members including Gretha Brandt. During 1969 under the ministry of Rev W.P. Wilson there were 15 baptisms and 22 new members join the local Church. There were 66 children in the Sunday School

1988 the Church almost closed down. Rev Adrian Tepper was invited to come and either get the Church going again or close it down. During 1989 the Lord sent 11 new members and the Church has been going strong ever since!

October 1997 Rev Uel Beggs began his ministry at Warragamba

The Warragamba Baptist Church has had 110 members over the past 40 years!
